Plant your Spring Veggies NOW!!!

As many of you know, I garden with the phases of the moon. This week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, is the time to plant above ground annuals, especially flowering plants and herbs. I have gathered seedlings of broccoli raab, ‘Nancy Butterhead’ lettuce, and chard. I also will be adding SEEDS of various lettuces at the same time to extend my harvest season. The moon is fullon Friday. Next Wednesday and Thursday is the ideal time to plant for root growth- that is when I will be planting my onion seedlings and seeding in my carrots, radishes, and beets. This Sunday and Monday are perfect days to plant tubers such as potatoes and even ornamental dahlias and elephant ears.

This Saturday I am giving a FREE TALK in our teaching tent aboutPlanning your Food Garden. It is part of our Earth Day Celebration. See the details in the Upcoming Events Calendar below and please join me to learn how and what to plant in your garden this weekend.
Our greenhouse and Incredible Edibles section are overflowing with every kind of organic veggie seedling imaginable. If you can plant it now, we have it in either seedling or seed form. Our selection includes: Broccoli, Broccoli raab, Swiss chard, Italian dandelion greens,

I planted my peas on April 13th because I was waiting for the weather to warm up. If you haven’t planted yours yet, we do have cell packs of sugar snaps and snow peas available.

onions, cabbage, cauliflower, kohlrabi, kale of all kinds, lots of different lettuces, spinach, celery, pak choy, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and collards. Naturally we have cool tolerant herbs as well such as parsley, mint, chives, and more. Don’t even THINK of planting tomatoes or basil outside now. I don’t care how warm it seems. It’s TOO EARLY. When it’s time, we will be sure to not only let you know but also have plenty of organic warm season plants in stock.
