Exciting Days Ahead!

Dear Nancy,
It’s hard to believe, but this is our last weekly email of the year for 2014! We are open daily until we close at 5 pm on Tuesday, December 23rd. We are also open this Thursday evening until 7 pm. And we have so many beautiful things to help you finish up your shopping and decorate your home.
Doesn’t this ornament collection make you smile? There is a coupon below- buy three ornaments, get one free. Perhaps you should buy a little gift for yourself…?
My felt ornaments go near the bottom of the tree so visiting children can play with them. I have been collecting them since I was a child and my great Aunt Jo made them for me! Guess which one of the above gingerbread collection is going on my tree this year?
I spent a lot of time this weekend preparing my home for the holidays. I made a swag for my lamppost. I picked more greens and berries and filled some vases in my home. I finished decorating my tree and man, do I have a lot of beautiful ornaments.  Every year I bring a couple of new ones home. So many of my ornaments bring back memories.Believe it or not, even I save my big bows from year to year. I don’t keep track, but I am sure I have made over 200 bows so far this year. Last Friday Diane and I cooked up a video that I think will make you laugh and help lighten your load at this busy time of year. She challenged me to make a bow in 90 seconds– and I did it! Click here to watch the video.Remember that we also constantly post beautiful pictures of greens, arrangements, plants, flowers, and garden scenes on our Facebook page. Click here to link to the Natureworks Facebook page now. My gratitude goes out to Diane St. John, my retail store manager, who takes unbelievably beautiful pictures every day. She is MY gift.
I LOVE dragonflies, they have a special place in my heart.
elieve it or not, I worked outside in the garden on Sunday. I couldn’t resist, it was so sunny and warm. I folded up all my tomato cages and put them away along with all of my stakes. I cleaned up some more frozen plants and hauled them to the compost. I filled the bird feeders and enjoyed he chickadee’s song as I did so. I even watched two red tailed hawks circling high in the blue sky. I work in my yard to the sound of classical music. Not a soul was in site, it was totally quiet, no leaf blowers or lawnmowers to be heard. Heaven.
Once all of my glass ball ornaments are on my tree, I add the snowflakes and stars. Birds too…
Heaven is, indeed, a garden. If you love to garden, share your love with the next generation. Teach them the importance of quality tools. Give them excellent garden reference books. Get them interested in growing food. Intrigue them with the concept of succession of bloom andsuccession of food during the entire year. Share your knowledge and share your plants. Kids, adult children just starting out, new homeowners can all benefit from the enthusiasm and information that you have to share. Remember, if you can’t get here in the next week, you can now order a Natureworks gift certificate on line. Please do so by Monday, December 22nd so that we have time to put it in the mail before we close for the season.
A tipi basket filled with greens, berries, and cones.

made this basket simply because the concolor fir and cedar smell SO good!
As I look back on this year, I couldn’t be happier. We had fun, we did good work, we made lots of new friends, and we did our part to keep the earth safe and make it more beautiful. What more could a woman want for her business? And we did it all in the company of like minded co-workers who unleashed tremendous creativity to make Natureworks the most inspiring and most interesting endeavor, so much more than I ever could have dreamed of.
Come visit and get your “Natureworks fix”! We close at 5 pm on December 23rd and reopen at 9 am on the first day of spring. The only other day we will be open is *Seedy Sunday, planned for February 8th. Otherwise, we will be teaching, traveling, designing, restocking, and recharging our batteries for the 2015 growing season.  Thank you to my employees, thank you to my customers, and thank you to the growers and suppliers who made all of this possible. Now it’s time to celebrate!
See you soon…
