A garden is more than just a collection of plants. It is the owner’s artistic interpretation of color, shape, texture, and form. Materials used to create our statuary include concrete, cast and carved stone, glazed ceramic, terra cotta, cast iron and other metals. What we have in stock at any one time varies greatly. Winter care of garden statuary:
- If your statuary holds water or soil (birdbaths, fountains, containers without a drainage hole), it should be emptied and brought inside for the winter. If it is too heavy to bring indoors, turn over the birdbath top or cover the fountain with a waterproof plastic tarp and tie it tightly.
- Never leave soil in a cast concrete or glazed ceramic pot over the winter. Soil will absorb water and then alternately freeze and thaw as the temperature fluctuates. This will CRACK your pot! Empty the soil and be sure the drainage hole is open if you leave your container outside. Consider bringing valuable containers indoors for the winter or covering them to protect them
